History
Ray Gallagher, along with his wife, Ruth Gallagher, ran Brandywine Falls Resort in the 1960s. They bought the land around Brandywine Falls from Charlie Conroy. They had a child, Julie Gallagher, who grew up at the resort. While running the resort, Ray also wrote a recurring column in Garibaldi Whistler News. The family hoped that the waterfall and its surrounding area would one day become a provincial park, and it did so in 1973.
