Hovatha was with a group of skateboarders who visited Whistler last week on a promotional tour. But they couldn't use Whistler Mountain lifts because of provincial lift regulations.

Called Thinking Day, it represents one of the most important days in the years for guides as it commemorates the birth of Olave, Lady Baden-Powell, the founder of Girl Guides, and her husband Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of Boy Scouts. Whistler's 18 sides, led by Debbie O'Mara, celebrated Friday with a brief service in the Skiers' Chapel followed by a Pot Luck Dinner.
