"Tiger of the slopes" - Portrait of Nancy Green in frame

Portrait of Nancy Greene in a blue, silver, and black trim frame. Nancy Greene is pictured from the shoulders up and there are mountains in the background. In the foreground of the print is a smaller image of Greene skiing and a gold medal. The name of the artist, Stephen Houston, is written on the print as well as the title, "Tiger of the Slopes," and Nancy Greene's name. Nancy Greene was a prominent Alpine skier competing in several Olympic Games and other ski competitions. She was named Athlete of the 20th Century. Currently Greene is a Senator for the province of British Columbia.

Ross Rebagliati Gold Medal Welcome Home Party

Photographs taken by the RMOW during their event to welcome home snowboarding gold medalist Ross Rebagliati from the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympic Games in Japan. Photographs show Ross signing autographs, shaking hands, showing his gold medal, and being interviewed on as stage among a large audience in Village Square. There are also photographs of a band playing on the stage.

A spiral bound paper booklet created for the Vancouver Whistler 2010 Bid Corporation Supporter Conference from November 23, 2001. The booklet aimed to present information on the bid's progress and covers a range of topics including sports and venues, Paralympic events, Greater Vancouver, operations planning, transportation, accommodation, health services, sustainability and the environment, Squamish and Lil'wat Nations, culture, finances, government partnership, key dates, pros and cons, marketing, host city competitors, fundraising, branding, and speaker biographies of those presenting at the conference. The cover of the booklet is blue with a picture of [Blackcomb Glacier]. The back cover has the sponsors of the 2010 Bid Corporation. Several pages have hand-written notes.

Ross Rebagliati Fonds

Materials collected by Ross Rebagliati relating to his career as a professional snowboarder and during his time competing for Team Canada in the Winter Olympic Games at Nagano, Japan in 1998, where he was the first person to win an Olympic gold medal in the discipline of snowboarding. Included is a scrapbook of his achievements and magazine features. Also included are fan letters expressing support for him during the post-Olympics controversy over marijuana which resulted in his gold medal being stripped and then re-awarded.

Video found on DVD-ROM of the film Out at the Games: Pride and the Podium, produced by Big Gay Movie Inc. in 2010. The footage follows Morris Chapdelaine and Mark Tewksbury as they discuss their sexual orientation stories and the benefits of PRIDE House for the game of sport.

Letters of Support from Fans

Two letters of support sent to Ross Rebagliati during his marijuana/gold medal controversy at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics in Japan and a letter of support written on a beer case label sent before he competed at the Games. Ross Rebagliati won the first ever gold medal for snowboarding in an Olympic Games. One letter is was kept in a large yellow envelope which had a newspaper photograph of Ross Rebagliati taped to it.

Ross Rebagliati Snowboarding Career Scrapbook - 1994

Scrapbook of Ross Rebagliati's snowboarding career up until 1994. The front cover shows a photograph of Ross racing with the title "Ross Rebagliati - World Cup Snowboarding Competitor" and listing his 1994 qualifications in Snowboard Slalom. The first few leaflet inserts are copies of Ross featured in a Japanese snowboarding magazine. The scrapbook contains all of his magazine features and covers, as well as copies of results from his snowboarding races. At the end of the scrapbook, inserts of Whistler Question and Vancouver Sun newspapers with news relating to Ross on the front page can be found.
