History

Lulu Leathley is a music teacher, drum circle facilitator, and author based in Vancouver. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and post graduate diplomas and certificates in Education. She has been involved with facilitating recreational drumming since 1997. Trained as a Montessori teacher, BC primary school teacher, Orff Music Specialist, and training with Barbara Cass-Beggs as a Baby Music teacher, she is also a three-time mentor for Arthur Hull. Through her music facilitation, she has worked with babies, pre-school, and school-aged children for many years before training in Health Rhythms. She has also introduced music-making to people with Alzheimer's disease, stroke and Parkinson's survivors, kids at risk, and adults dealing with addiction and mental health issues. She is a Certified Village Music Facilitator. Lulu has also published a book: 1,2 Let's All Play (with Mary Knysh). She has also worked on Keep The Beat to Integrate for new immigrants into Canada and Keep The Beat for Mental Health to help educate children and adults about mental health issues. She is part of the Drum Circles Facilitators Guild. She enjoys skiing and yoga in her free time.
