        Richard Kelly is a realtor, entrepreneur, and mountain biking pioneer who was a resident of Whistler from the 1980s to 2020s. An avid skier, he moved to Whistler in 1982. Starting his first company in 1985, Whistler Backroads Mountain Bike Adventures, he has been a member of the Resort Municipality of Whistler's (RMOW) Advisory Parks and Recreation Commission, was a founding member of the Whistler Off Road Cycling Association (WORCA), coached minor hockey and baseball, and sat on the RMOW's Built Green Environment Task Force. Whistler Backroads was the first company to run mountain bike tours on Whistler Mountain. He was also involved in mountain bike trail-building in the 1980s, having a hand in the trail Mel's Dilemma. Richard joined RE/MAX Sea to Sky Real Estate in 2004 and eventually worked a year for the Whistler Real Estate Company before moving his family to Victoria, BC in the 2020s.
