History

Urs Kaelin (Kälin in German) is a Swiss retired alpine ski racer. He won three silver medals in giant slalom, his specialty, at major title competitions: at the 1991 World Ski Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, at the 1994 Olympic Games in Lillehammer, and at the 1996 World Ski Championships in the Sierre Nevada. In addition, Kaelin won three giant slalom FIS World Cup races. In December 2001 he retired from ski racing due to an injury. He is married and lives in Einsiedeln, Switzerland. In his spare time, he enjoys soccer, wrestling, fishing, and foraging.
