History

Betty Jarvis is a real estate agent in Whistler. Originally from Montreal, she moved to Whistler with her husband, Tom Jarvis, in 1974. When the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) was formed in the mid 1970s, Betty became the very first secretary and performed most of the administrative duties from her home. She and her husband soon realized the potential of Whistler, and in 1978, they purchased Rainbow Ski Village and opened Beau's Restaurant, which was at the time, the exclusive fine dining establishment in Whistler. She has worked as a realtor since 1979, when she established her own real estate agency, a branch of McCauley Nicolls. Since 2012, she has been a real estate sales associate for Sotheby's Real Estate arm. Betty and her family have owned and operated numerous businesses in the Whistler/Pemberton area. She and Tom had two sons: Beau (1974) and Quinn ([?]).
