Zonder titel
The fonds contains a mixture of brochures and pamphlets related to Whistler Mountain and Blackcomb Mountain, as well as ski magazines and guides.
Fonds consists of two letters representing the proposal that started the Whistler Express train, in which donor (Bryan Vogler) played a role. The proposal was a bid process between VIA Rail and the Rocky Mountaineer Rail Group; the Rocky Mountaineer was ultimately successful. The letters talk of the necessity of developing a Commuter Rail Service to facilitate tourist transportation between Whistler, Squamish, and North Vancouver.
Contents include:
Scrapbook containing newspaper/magazine clippings, photographs, brochures, and other material relating to the development, opening, and activities of the Fairmont Chateau resort. Other articles relate to Blackcomb Mountain, Whistler Village, and Whistler in general.
Fonds consists of a page advertising Garibaldi Ski Development at Whistler Mountain for the 1965/66 season. Includes a brief description of the runs, lifts, rates, and facilities at Whistler Mountain; four black-and-white drawings and photographs; advertisements for Cheakamus Inn and Highland Lodge; and information on travelling from Vancouver, including a map. Reprinted from a skiing guidebook.
Issues of Whistler - The Magazine from 1982-1989, maps of Whistler Village designs and development, and other textual documents relating to the planning, design, and amenities offered in the new Whistler Village.
Photographs and documents gathered and/or created by Janet Love Morrison for use in her publications, as well as items relating to the re-opening of the Roundhouse in 1998.
Original slides, transparencies, negatives, contact sheets, and prints of photographs taken by Greg Griffith, local photographer and owner of Mountain Moments Photography. The photographs are chiefly of skiing, snowboarding, mountain scenery, aerial shots, Whistler Village, skiing and snowboarding competitions (including the Molson World Cup Downhill), summer sports, freestyle skiing and snowboarding, heli-skiing, heli-boarding, and hotels and condominiums. The collection also includes photographs of well-known Whistler residents, historical moments in Whistler (such as the opening of Blackcomb Mountain, the construction of Whistler Village, squatter culture), and various events in Whistler.
Materials gathered by Sara Jennings, including a Myrtle Philip Elementary School newsletter from 1986, assignments completed by Sara for classes at Pemberton Secondary School from 1990-1994, and two pamphlets and a poster representing the anti-2010 Olympic Games perspective.
