Whistler Bicycle Network Plan - Draft #2 March 2002

59-page Whistler Bicycle Network Plan, second draft, prepared for the Resort Municipality of Whistler by the Whistler Cycling Committee in March 2002. It lays out a plan to increase transportational (non-recreational) bicycle use in Whistler by providing more routes and facilities for cyclists, with the ultimate goal of providing access for cyclists to all major destinations and neighbourhoods in the area. Additional programs aim to educate the public on safe cycling and road-sharing.

Tourism

Three promotional stickers for Whistler Mountain and Whistler Blackcomb, including two Whistler Mountain "Big Old Softie" stickers and one "Ski Whistler Blackcomb B.C. - Canada" sticker.

A promotional book for Whistler's restaurants created by the Restaurant Association of Whistler in 2009. The book includes menu highlights, featured recipes and alcoholic beverages, featured chefs, reviews, awards, restaurant origin stories, an events calendar, and a map.

Four travel planners created by the Whistler Resort Association to promote both Winter and Summer seasons between 1997 and 2000. Three of the planners are from the 1997-2000 Winter seasons, and one is from 1999 promoting the Summer season.

A paper spiral bound guide for Whistler Resort Association (WRA) members from November 15th, 1996. The guide covers topics ranging from membership information, functions and responsibilities of the WRA, a copy of the bylaws, a mission statement, the Resort Municipality of Whistler Act, a message from the President Functions of the WRA, the Board of Directors Organizational Structure, voting rights, members of the WRA, information on who can become a member, member assessments, and a Use Declaration Form.

A 1999 VHS promotional resort video guide for the Resort Municipality of Whistler, titled "Whistler in Deep Resort Guide". The video depicts two locals guiding the viewer around Whistler Village, the mountains, activities, and dining throughout the valley. The video includes information on restaurants, ski lessons, indoor and outdoor activities, night life, retail stores, tours, and mountain terrain.

Bylaw No. 8, part of the Official Community Plan for the Resort Municipality of Whistler. Photocopy of an annotated version [possibly produced by Geoff Pearce] addressed in the late 1970s at a council meeting. The bylaw covers development area designations and policies, accommodation projection and allocation, distribution of future accommodation, accommodation mix, residential areas and potential residential areas, local commercial services, service commercial and industrial areas, recreation reserve areas, rural resource areas, transportation policies, sewer and water systems, and zoning and subdivision development regulations.

Draft of the Official Community Plan sent to the Resort Municipality of Whistler on behalf of Urban Programme Planners (of R. E. Mann Ltd.) on October 29, 1976. The document is a revised and expanded version of Bylaw No. 8 [WA_2019_037_01_003]. The plan is preceded by a letter to council presenting the plan on behalf of R. E. Mann and D. A. Halverson. The plan itself covers development area designations and policies, accommodation projection and allocation, distribution of future accommodation, accommodation mix, residential areas and potential residential areas, local commercial services, service commercial and industrial areas, recreation reserve areas, rural resource areas, transportation policies, sewer and water systems, and zoning and subdivision development regulations.

Resort Municipality of Whistler Newsletters

Two Resort Municipality of Whistler newsletters from February 1979 and March 1981 sent to the Alpine Club of Canada Vancouver Section. The issues were read and used by the Section executive of the Club and were previously part of the Section archive.

The newsletters broach subjects including regarding a Garibaldi Lift Company announcement to develop the North Face of Whistler Mountain, the rights to develop Blackcomb Mountain by Fortress Mountain Resorts Ltd, the sod turning ceremony of the Town Core [Whistler Village], announcement for a contract for underground parking, the announcement that Arnold Palmer Enterprises set to design an 18 hole golf course [Whistler Golf Course], the Whistler Volunteer Fire Department, private water systems, the Information Center, thank-yous to council members, welcomes to newly elected council members, highway improvements to the north, subdivision paving, overnight camping, Health Center and ambulance service, efforts to establish an R.C.M.P detachment, establishment of a ski train, television and radio reception, bylaws to control dogs and noise, taxes, establishing a municipal works yard, employee housing, schools, road maintenance, garbage service, zoning, recreational facilities, legal costs, budgets, flooding, gas utilities, Municipal Hall, bus transportation, Sunday shopping, construction, the cemetery, and the Cheakamus River.
