Photographs of ski racing on Whistler Mountain in the 1970s and roller-skiing, with accompanying artefacts including ski badges, a Garibaldi Lifts summer camp pass, and a Shell Canadian Championship racer access pass. Many of the photographs are portraits of skiers with the individual pictured labelled on the back.
Series consists of meeting minutes, newspaper and magazine clippings, correspondence, a report, and a feasibility study relating to the development of Whistler as a ski hill and a residential area in the 1960s. There is a particular focus on Whistler Alpine Villa Ltd., for which Hartland M. MacDougall (donor's father) worked. Also mentioned are the Whistler Skier's Chapel and Garibaldi Lifts Ltd. The items are arranged in the order they were received from the donor.
Fonds consists of a page advertising Garibaldi Ski Development at Whistler Mountain for the 1965/66 season. Includes a brief description of the runs, lifts, rates, and facilities at Whistler Mountain; four black-and-white drawings and photographs; advertisements for Cheakamus Inn and Highland Lodge; and information on travelling from Vancouver, including a map. Reprinted from a skiing guidebook.
