Fonds contain the records of Don MacLaurin. MacLaurin was involved in the forestry industry of British Columbia, taught at BCIT, and was heavily involved with the Resort Municipality of Whistler. He was in several forestry associations, including the Canadian Institute of Forestry, British Columbia Foresters, and the Forest Nursery Association of British Columbia. MacLaurin created the Whistler Interpretive Forest. MacLaurin also completed assessments for private developers. Included in the fonds are his personal records.

Most of the records were created in the Whistler region.

Alta Lake Community Club Minutebook 1951-1983

Minutebook for meetings of the Alta Lake Community Club from 1951-1985. Subjects discussed include holiday parties and dances, the purchasing of a projector, hosting films, Girl Guides and Cubs, memorial benches, the purchasing of a snowplow, logging, moving the Alta Lake School flagpole, fire safety, postal service, roads, Robbie Burns Night, fishing derbies, art lessons, theatre, Myrtle Philip's birthday, the Squamish Youth Choral, Blackcomb Ski Club, Rainbow Mountain ski hill, the Pacific Great Eastern Railway, TV's coming to the Whistler valley, building the Whistler Mountain Ski Club building, the formation of a ski club, the Mountain Rescue Group, Mount Whistler Lodge, Alta Lake Ratepayers Association, building a new school, physical education classes on the mountain, Cypress Lodge, donation to the Garibaldi Olympic Development Association, Highland Lodge, the Logger's Sports Day Parade, seasons passes for children, square-dancing, and badminton.

Letter written by Walter Zebrowski on July 8, 1975 expressing concerns over and critiquing Bill [Act] 130 in regards to the creation of the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW). Critiques include funding sources (taxpayers), worries over over-expansion, decision-making powers, and provincial responsibilities. The letter is annotated [by an unknown author], as are the attached copies of the Bill in question.

The handwritten notes list the owners of the property over the years, the form lists the price for which it was sold and who it was bought from. The additional sheet gives a much more detailed narrative of Andy and Florence Petersen's life in Whistler.
