Menu for the Earl of Wessex's visit to Whistler

A square [dinner] menu printed on brown and pearlescent cardstock paper, prepared for His Royal Highness, the Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex by the Resort Municipality of Whistler [during his visit to the Paralympic Games in 2010]. The menu includes a first course of hot smoked salmon, muskox short rib ravioli, and cipolini onion. The second course was Blueberry Hill venison, sweet potato, pistachio brown butter, and a blueberry jus. Dessert was a maple flan with vanilla poached pears followed by tea and coffee. The Menu also displays the Tourism Whistler logo.

Concept Design - Whistler Olympic Centre

A paper booklet of a concept design for the Whistler Olympic centre prepared by Intersect Group, Azurean Architecture Inc., and Via + Cochrane. Concept design included a Paralympic Sledge Hockey arena, a community centre, an Olympic venue, a space for future sports and education, and a culture legacy. Content includes an introduction, a description of the design concept, a facility plan legend, notes, a building plan, a seasonal use plan, a site plan, a architectural section drawing, images of functional precedents, and images of building precedents.

Presentation Booklet - 2010 Winter Olympic Bid Supporter Conference

A spiral bound paper booklet created for the Vancouver Whistler 2010 Bid Corporation Supporter Conference from November 23, 2001. The booklet aimed to present information on the bid's progress and covers a range of topics including sports and venues, Paralympic events, Greater Vancouver, operations planning, transportation, accommodation, health services, sustainability and the environment, Squamish and Lil'wat Nations, culture, finances, government partnership, key dates, pros and cons, marketing, host city competitors, fundraising, branding, and speaker biographies of those presenting at the conference. The cover of the booklet is blue with a picture of [Blackcomb Glacier]. The back cover has the sponsors of the 2010 Bid Corporation. Several pages have hand-written notes.

Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games

Materials donated by Ken Melamed regarding the 2010 Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and his time acting as mayor during the Games. Files include a letter from Gary Lunn, federal Minister of Sport, to Ken Melamed, Mayor of Whistler, written on November 4, 2010 presenting the Olympic and Paralympic flags that were flown on Parliament hill during the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
