Materials created by the late Kelvin Fenwick (who passed away in 2003) during his time working for Whistler Mountain between 1976 and 1991 in avalanche control and alpine construction. Includes photographs of avalanches, Toni Sailer Summer Ski Camp, and construction near Roundhouse Lodge on Whistler Mountain.
Materials donated by former Mayor of Whistler, Ken Melamed, including a letter from Heritage Canada presenting Olympic and Paralympic flags to him which were flown on Parliament Hill in Ottawa during the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Photographs taken between 1972 and 1973 by Ken Snowball, primarily of skiing and ski racing on Whistler Mountain and Grouse Mountain, the Mount Currie Rodeo, Nairn Falls, cityscapes and street scenes of Vancouver, Adventures West and Alta Lake, and the Easter Parade in Whistler.
Materials collected and donated by Leslee Goldsmid, including the "Ode to Rainbow" poem written about Rainbow Lodge.
Fonds contain the records of Don MacLaurin. MacLaurin was involved in the forestry industry of British Columbia, taught at BCIT, and was heavily involved with the Resort Municipality of Whistler. He was in several forestry associations, including the Canadian Institute of Forestry, British Columbia Foresters, and the Forest Nursery Association of British Columbia. MacLaurin created the Whistler Interpretive Forest. MacLaurin also completed assessments for private developers. Included in the fonds are his personal records.
Most of the records were created in the Whistler region.
Materials donated by Marcus Culver from his employment on the Transportation Parking and Permit Crew for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Whistler, including Olympic postcards, a training manual, Team pocket guide, and dining vouchers.
