Whistler Blackcomb Ski Map Poster

A poster showing the ski runs and chairlifts on Whistler and Blackcomb Mountain. It also gives information about the height of both mountains and the difficulty of the various runs. The map includes Whistler Village, Creekside, Alpha Lake and Nita Lake. One duplicate.

Ivana

Draw entry answer by Ivana for the Whistler Museum event "Whistler's Mountain Identity [...]". In response to the question "What would you like to say about the past, present, and future of Whistler's Mountain Identity?" Ivana responded:

"I think we should slow down or even better stop any future development and focus on quality of our relationship with the mountain, not on quantity of visitors."

Correspondence to Jim and Holly Adams (Long Run Video Productions), June 27 + duplicate

A letter from Florence Petersen of the Whistler Museum and Archives Society thanking Jim Budge and Holly Adams for donating two video tapes to the archives. Attached is the letter of donation from Jim Budge and Holly Adams describing the videos, which are of the 1988 Great Snow Earth Water Race and of event highlights from Blackcomb Mountain. The first letter is duplicated.

Whiskey 1

A video that features the participants engaging in drinking, smashing bottles on their own heads, vomiting, pranking each other, skateboarding in Vancouver and Victoria, and snowboarding in Whistler.

Speedbumps

A 5 minute film directed by Ivan Hughes for the 2008 Whistler Film Festival. Speedbumps tells the story of Whistler's skiing history and its journey towards hosting the Olympic games.

When Hugh Met Joe

A 5 minute film directed by Jim Budge for the 2009 Whistler Film Festival. When Hugh Met Joe tells the story of how Hugh Smythe met Joe Houssian and opened Blackcomb Mountain as a ski hill, and how they eventually merged with Whistler Mountain.
