"Whistler Mountain through the years" Timeline

Newspaper clipping from the Vancouver Sun including a timeline of "Whistler Mountain through the years." Significant events from the opening of Rainbow Lodge in 1914 to the naming of Whistler as top ski resort in North America in 2015 are listed. The clipping also contains the continuation of an article from page A17 about the history of Whistler. There are two photographs: skiers disembarking a gondola in 1991 and construction work on Whistler Town Centre in 1980.

A daily calendar and planner entitled "A Local's Guide to the 2010 Olympic Games". It includes tips for planning around the Olympic Games, as well as information on how access the events and torch relays, with a focus on February and March of 2010. Whistler Welcomes the World But ... at what cost? Pamphlet

Whistler Watch pamphlet entitled "Whistler Welcomes the World But ... at what cost?" produced during the lead-up to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games. It details the environmental, social, and democratic costs of the Games, including habitat loss due to construction, pollution caused by transportation, increased energy and water usage, generation of waste, shortage of housing, financial costs, erosion of the civil liberties of those opposing the Games, violence against women, the heightened nationalism of sport, and the use of unceded First Nations territory. It also includes a list of proposed changes for future Olympic games and ways that people can take action.

Respecting a 'special place'

An editorial article written by Heike Stippler, likely in 2007. She writes that someone has disrespected a memorial bench on the Valley Trail by Green Lake in memory of Kelty Patrick Dennehy from the Kelty Patrick Dennehy Foundation. A small watering can attached to the bench and meant to water plants with was stolen. Found in scrapbook.

Whistler Bicycle Network Plan - Draft #2 March 2002

59-page Whistler Bicycle Network Plan, second draft, prepared for the Resort Municipality of Whistler by the Whistler Cycling Committee in March 2002. It lays out a plan to increase transportational (non-recreational) bicycle use in Whistler by providing more routes and facilities for cyclists, with the ultimate goal of providing access for cyclists to all major destinations and neighbourhoods in the area. Additional programs aim to educate the public on safe cycling and road-sharing.
