Fonds contain the records of Don MacLaurin. MacLaurin was involved in the forestry industry of British Columbia, taught at BCIT, and was heavily involved with the Resort Municipality of Whistler. He was in several forestry associations, including the Canadian Institute of Forestry, British Columbia Foresters, and the Forest Nursery Association of British Columbia. MacLaurin created the Whistler Interpretive Forest. MacLaurin also completed assessments for private developers. Included in the fonds are his personal records.

Most of the records were created in the Whistler region.

File includes photographs of trees and landscapes; objections for the 1971 Confederation Trail Project; a related news article from the Squamish Citizen newspaper; pages of a "Trail Project Diary"; Coast Crest Trail notes; parking slips; related contact information; correspondence regarding applications for Opportunities for Youth grants for the Coast Crest Trail; correspondence regarding a proposed "Confederation Trail"; notebook pages with contact information and notes; correspondence regarding a linkage trail between the Centennial Trail and the Baden-Powell Centennial Trail; notes regarding potential work for a "youth crew"; correspondence regarding a hiking trail from Hollyburn to Alta Lake; topographical maps of the area; hand drawn maps of Goat Ridge to Howe Sound and Furry Creek SSA.
