Original slides, transparencies, negatives, contact sheets, and prints of photographs taken by Greg Griffith, local photographer and owner of Mountain Moments Photography. The photographs are chiefly of skiing, snowboarding, mountain scenery, aerial shots, Whistler Village, skiing and snowboarding competitions (including the Molson World Cup Downhill), summer sports, freestyle skiing and snowboarding, heli-skiing, heli-boarding, and hotels and condominiums. The collection also includes photographs of well-known Whistler residents, historical moments in Whistler (such as the opening of Blackcomb Mountain, the construction of Whistler Village, squatter culture), and various events in Whistler.

All children, including kindergarten students took part in the fair which was designed to give students a chance to use research skills, art talent and writing and speaking abilities together on one area of science in which they show interest. The front of each postcard says "Whistler" and has a picture of skiers with Whistler Village in the background. On the verso of each postcard has a caption that says "Skiing into Whistler Village (elevation 2,000 ft). After a run of over 5,000 vertical feet. Whistler, British Columbia, Canada" and has a Golden Dreams Bed & Breakfast stamp.

Images are of skiing into Whistler Village, hiking on Blackcomb Mountain, closeup skiers, and a aerial photograph of Whistler Village. 5 postcards (01 to 02) have a "Golden Dreams Bed & Breakfast" stamp on the verso.

File also includes photographs of Nancy Greene, Michel Beaudry, Brad Vancour, Gord Sherwood, Manny Emanuel, Ian MacLeod, Mark Morrison, Dave Patterson, Doc Fingers, and the Bowie family.
The known date span for this file ranges from 1979 to 1992; however, some slides that are unlabelled presumably exceed 1992.

1988/89 Blackcomb Employee Manual Package

A package for new employees working at Blackcomb Mountain, in the 1988/89 ski season. This package contains a variety of pamphlets all with various information a new employee should know for working at Blackcomb Mountain. The contents of the package include;

  • Blackcomb at Whistler "Summer Magic" pamphlet - Which discusses some of the activities one can engage in on Blackcomb Mountain.
  • Blackcomb Summer Glacier Skiing 1989 pamphlet - Which discusses Glacier skiing on Horstman Glacier as well as pricing.
  • Blackcomb Magazine - Which discusses some of the new features of Blackcomb Mountain, and other various ski related topics for Blackcomb
  • 1988/89 Blackcomb Mountain guide - Which shows the various runs and lifts of the mountain
  • Blackcomb Kids Kamp Pamphlet - Which describes the Kids Kamp program, lessons for children to learn how to ski. And also includes pricing
  • Blackcomb Ski School Pamphlet - Which details the ski lesson programs one can enrol in, which includes pricing for the various types of lessons
  • Blackcomb "Upwardly Mobile" Pamphlet - This pamphlet describes two corporate packages that businesses can take advantage of at Blackcomb, One is the Mile High Club, which is a membership that can be used by anyone in the company. The other is the Mountain Mardi Gras, which allows 20 or more people on the mountain as well as being served meals and drinks
  • Blackcomb Men's Mountain Masters Pamphlet - Which describes a more advanced ski lesson course which focuses on bumps, powder, gates and more, as well as pricing for the classes
  • Blackcomb Greg Athans Adult Mogul Camps - Which describes a two day class taught by Greg Athans for Moguls and steep terrain skiing.
  • Blackcomb Ladies Unlimited Pamphlet - Which descries a ski course for women which teaches steep skiing techniques.
  • Blackcomb Perception Ski Workshops Pamphlet - Which describes a ski workshop created by Kathy Kreiner to help teach Sports Psychology, and focuses more on the mental aspects of skiing.
  • Blackcomb Racing Pamphlet - Which discusses the various races held at Blackcomb and information for enrolling in them
