The Province

A half page article from The Province newspaper published Sunday November 8, 1981 on page A4. The article is entitled "Peak in Sight for Whistler." The article is about whether or not Whistler has been oversold as a world class resort, unfinished resort developments, the dangers of Highway 99 and low real estate activity.

File also includes a dividing piece of paper between 01.09.32 and 01.09.33 that reads, "'Picnics' (title given by the creator) / Mainly pictures of eating and skiing in the spring. / Includes ski picnics on the mountains; eating outside at / on mountain restaurants and cafes; barbeques on / mountain; Heli skiing picnic in a park including / volleyball"

Originally labeled "Box 3 File 5" was accompanied by a typed and printed piece of paper that reads, "'VILLAGE WINTER' (original file title) / Chiefly aerial photographs of Whistler / Village and Whistler & Blackcomb / Mountains. Also includes aerials of other / mountains in the area, aerials of the / downhill course on Whistler Mountain / and some pictures of the Village from / ground level including the Fairmont / Chateau and some condos."

These accompanying pieces of paper are included in the newly organized file as to identify original context and order.
