Photographs

Photographs taken by the late Kelvin Fenwick (who passed away in 2003) from his time working for Whistler Mountain in avalanche control and alpine construction. Includes photographs from 1976-1991 of avalanches, construction near Roundhouse on Whistler Mountain, aerial views of the valley, Toni Sailer Summer Ski Camp, a mountaintop lunch, freestyle skiing, a wildfire, Whistler Bowl, and Whistler Peak.

RMOW Work for Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games

Materials relating to the preparation for and participation in the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Whistler collected by Jan Jansen during his time in the role of Manager of Resort Experience at the Resort Municipality of Whistler.

Negatives

Photographs of the construction of Whistler Village (buildings include: Clocktower Building, Fitzsimmons Lodge, Hearthstone Lodge, Rainbow Building, Blackcomb Lodge, the Fire Hall, and Mountain Square/Skier's Plaza), the installation of a chairlift with views of the chairs lined on the ground, and someone installing cushions on the towers. Other photographs include early Whistler Village from a distance, ski runs being prepared, a helicopter installing [chairlift towers?], windsurfing on Alta Lake, and someone canoeing on [Alta Lake?].

The tour was held in the valley, finishing with a luncheon at the top of Whistler Mountain.
