Photographs of publicity shots used for Blackcomb Mountain's marketing purposes before it merged with Whistler. Subjects include but are not limited to the following: skiing, snowboarding, events, dining, retail, aerial photography, portraits, mountain facilities, mountain biking, outdoor recreation, and hiking.
Materials donated by Bob Barnett from various events in Whistler, including posters from the Saudan Couloir Ski Race Extreme, the Shell Cup Canadian Championships, the Vachon Cup, Molson World Cup Downhill, Whistler Ski Classic, Todd Brooker Ski Challenge, Alpine Wine Festival, Alpine Wine & Dine, the opening of the Peak 2 Peak Gondola, and the 40th anniversary of Whistler Mountain and 25th anniversary of Blackcomb Mountain. There are also advertising posters from LANGE boots and Elan Skis.
Material created by Bob Bishop, a member of Whistler's first municipal council, including a letter addressing voters from his election to the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) council in 1975.
Photographs of the Molson World Cup held in Whistler in 1989, including Rob Boyd on the first place podium; other podium placements; interviews with racers; Steve Podborski; a view of the original Creekside gondola; the opening ceremony; the Moslon World Cup downhill race; and Ken Read.
Materials gathered by Brad Nichols, including volunteering handbooks for Whistler Blackcomb Events and Whistler Mountain Bike Park from 2017 and 2018, an invitation to the Illuminate Gala at the Audain Art Museum in 2019, the 1995 Greg Stump VHS mountain biking film "Pulp Traction", and a WORCA Toonie Race tentative schedule from 2020 which never came to fruition due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Photographs from the Freakers' Ball. The photographs were taken at three different Freakers' Balls: in 1975, when it was held in the Mount Whistler Lodge; in 1976, when it was held in the Christiana Inn, and in 1977, when it was held in the Keg.
Photographs of the Tapley's Fastball team. One photograph is from July 19 in the early 1980s. The other photograph is from July 1, 1989. The photos were most likely taken at Spruce Grove Park in Whistler, BC. The photo from the early 1980s seems to be an informal baseball league, whereas the photo from 1989 is most likely taken at an event hosted by the Whistler Slo-Pitch Association (WSPA).
