See the Length of that Cow

This photograph was taken in front of the Alta Lake Store and Post Office on the grounds of Rainbow Lodge.

There is an annotation on the reverse of the photograph which reads, "1919-- 'See the length of that cow.' Myrtle we put the cows to Pemb for the winter and they hadn't secured the door properly. There was a long grade, and with the train jerking, it yanked the door open. One heifer saw a pile of ties, and jumped off the train. They had to stop the train, and go back and catch that cow, and arrange the ties so she could get back in."

Horseback rider with the head accidentally left out of the frame and Binkie the dog 'begging'. Caption on the reverse reads "The Headless Horror! This also was a mindful black out! but it is still a good get up." and in another hand "Dog Binkie posing".
