Fonds contain the records of Don MacLaurin. MacLaurin was involved in the forestry industry of British Columbia, taught at BCIT, and was heavily involved with the Resort Municipality of Whistler. He was in several forestry associations, including the Canadian Institute of Forestry, British Columbia Foresters, and the Forest Nursery Association of British Columbia. MacLaurin created the Whistler Interpretive Forest. MacLaurin also completed assessments for private developers. Included in the fonds are his personal records.

Most of the records were created in the Whistler region.

Documents concerning the Callaghan area. The file includes correspondence; a draft of the Callaghan Valley Nordic Sports Centre Preliminary Concept Plan; documents pertaining to a tour of the Callaghan Valley, including maps; a copy of the 1991 Callaghan Valley Management Strategy.

Documents pertaining to Arbour Day preparations, activities, and planning. Series includes correspondence regarding Arbour Day; financial documents; Arbour Day volunteer, planning, and plant material lists; correspondence regarding plant material purchases; order forms for plant material.

File includes notes regarding contact information and panel discussions; document titled "Forum on Forestry Education and Training in British Columbia Relevance and Renewal" and related correspondence.

Documents regarding development plans for the demonstration forest. File includes a clearance status inquiry with accompanying maps; notes; correspondence; draft copies of document titled "Whistler Demonstration Forest: A Description and Proposed Development Plan"; related appendices including photographs with captions and maps (Map A and Map B).
