Whistler Recipes Cookbook

Cookbook published by the Whistler Museum and Archives Society (WMAS) in July 1997, titled "Whistler Recipes." Sections include Appetizers and Beverages; Soups and Salads, Sauces and Dressings; Vegetables; Main Dishes; Breads and Muffins; Desserts; Preserves and Pickles. These recipes were collected from past and present valley residents and Friends of the Museum. The cookbook includes a brief history of Alta Lake, British Columbia (now Whistler, BC). An order form to purchase a cookbook is included on the last page.

Introduction Letter with handwritten notes

An introduction letter sent by Gay Cluer and Florence Petersen to the residents of Alta Lake Road requesting information about the houses and people who lived their for their history book. This particular copy has numerous handwritten notes from Bev and Ron Kitteringham with memories about the railway line, Rainbow Lodge, views of the lake and mountains and food.

Capturing the resort's original dreamers and schemers

Item is a Pique Newsmagazine article about the creation of the film "Whistler: From Wilderness to World Class" by the Mature Action Community Society, the Whistler Museum and Archives, and the Whistler Arts Council. The film features interviews with 17 longtime Whistler residents and captures the stories of those who settled in the region in the 1960s and 70s. The article includes a large photograph of Andy Petersen.
