5702 Alta Lake Road

Two handwritten notes, one form filled out by Florence and Andy Petersen, and an additional sheet of paper with handwritten anecdotes about 5702 Alta Lake Road, Lot 14. The handwritten notes list the owners of the property over the years, the form lists the price for which it was sold and who it was bought from. The additional sheet gives a much more detailed narrative of Andy and Florence Petersen's life in Whistler.

Alta Lake Community Club Minutebook 1984-1985

Minutebook for the Alta Lake Community Club's general meetings between 1984 and 1985. Subjects broached at meetings include the Children's Festival, the BMX track, North Shore Credit Union's opening, the Whistler Question, a Whistler cookbook, a treasure hunt, the Expo 86 Committee, the Whistler BMX Association, the Fall Fair, the Whistler Chamber of Commerce, a Christmas party, a Teen Dance, the construction of Dandelion Daycare, a rummage sale, Camp Rain Shine, babysitting, a children's book, the Whistler Museum and Archives, the Rotary Club, the RMOW, and Myrtle Philip Elementary School.

Exhibit - Picturing Whistler: Local Faces, Local Spaces

Photographs taken by 11 volunteers for a Whistler Museum and Archives exhibit entitled 'Picturing Whistler: Local Faces, Local Spaces'. Volunteers were asked to 'take photographs of people, places , events and phenomena or anything else that you consider to be essentially 'local' in Whistler'.

Volunteers were: Nicole Fitzgerald, Ashley Clark & Mike Hudson, Feet Bank, Britt Janyk, Tina Symko, Chana Kleinman, Brian Finestone, Florence Petersen, Mayor Hugh O'Reilly, Rachelle Johnson and Bob Brett.

Greeting card from Fernand [Desroches, owner of Myrtle's Restaurant] to Florence [Petersen] and Elaine [?]. The card, which has balloons on the cover, reads:
Cover: "You're leaving... and we hope that your days will be as good as your daydreams. We want you to know that we will miss you very much."
Cover verso: "In remembrance of Myrtle's 100th birthday Fernand would like to invite you for dinner on Tuesday, March 19th at 6:30pm ~ Reservations have been made and we look forward to hosting you and your spouces [sic - spouses], Andy + Bill ~ This is our special 'thank you' for your years of dedication to the Museum + Archives Society ~"
