Tyax Lake

Film of a lakeside taken from a boat, presumably Tyax Lake (or Tyaughton Lake as it is otherwise known); two men and two women walking outside and in the grounds of an unknown lodge; scenery and stationary cars on a gravel road and brief footage of two buildings with signs on them reading "Hazel's" and "[B R Meats]". The box for the film has written in Myrtle Philip's handwriting "1934, Tyax Lake in the fall."

Original House on Point of Alpha Lake

This photograph shows a house on a point at Alpha Lake during wintertime. The house is almost certainly that of Dr. & Grace Naismith. Annotations in pen on the reverse of the image read: "Original house on point of Alpha Lake," "about 1930" and "Built by Dr. returned from war." A separate annotation in pencil reads, "possibly Dr. Naismith and Grace."

An Evening's Catch in Miller Lake

This photograph depicts a man standing behind a line strung between two trees. The line is hung with a large catch of fish, while the man stands smoking a pipe gazing off into the distance.

Annotations on the reverse of the photograph read: "An evening's catch in Miller Lake in 1908- before railway was built, by Frank Burnett." A separate note reads, "Alpha Lake?"

Burnett, Frank

House on Alpha Lake

This photograph shows a house on Alpha Lake in the wintertime with two women standing in front of it. The annotation on the reverse of the photograph reads, "House on Alpha Lake." The house appears to be Dr & Grace Naismith's house, although this is unconfirmed.

The two women are possibly Myrtle Philip and Grace Naismith, as referred to in the card catalog for PHILIP-1986-0006 (stored as WMA P86.006 PHILIP).

Skookum and Kii at Alta Lake

These two prints (A, B) from the same negative show Alta Lake in the winter time, with several people and dogs on the frozen surface of the lake. In the foreground is a woman (possibly Myrtle?) and two dogs identified as Myrtle's dogs Skookum (collie) and Kii. In the deep background is another dog and two other people.

This photograph shows a group of three people skating on the frozen surface of Alta Lake. From left to right they are: Myrtle Philip, James Butterfield, and Anne Philip.

Spring Flood at Alta Lake

This photograph shows a flooded Alta Lake, with a portion of the Rainbow Lodge property overtaken by the water. An unidentified woman stands in the water.
