History

Bill Hudson is an American former alpine ski racer who competed in the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. He was born on June 27, 1966 in Los Angeles, CA. He attended Dartmouth University before joining the US Ski Team. Hudson skied for the better part of four years on the FIS World Cup circuit (1988-1992), posting one top 10 in a combined event. He competed in the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympic Games, placing 30th in the Super-G and DNF in all other events. At a World Cup downhill on the Hahnenkamm in Kitzbühel, Austria in 1991, Hudson suffered a crash. He was fortunate to be alive, spent months in rehab, and was never again the same skier. He turned to Ski Cross and competed in the X Games for the US ski team, winning a silver medal in Ski Cross. From 1991 to 1994, he studied business management at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT. Hudson later became the Executive Director of the Sugar Bowl Ski Team Foundation, at the Donner Ski Area near Lake Tahoe, CA. In 2007, Hudson left that job to become a model spokesman for Calvin Klein, modeling their new line of high-end undergarments, Silver Foxes. He currently resides in Olympic Valley, CA with his three children and is an ambassador for the US Snow Sports Museum. Since 2018, he has been Director of the Palisades Tahoe Alpine Meadows Ski and Snowboard Teams.
