Geschiedenis
Angus Gorrie was a Scotsman who ran a small business selling items like chocolate, ice cream, and home brew while living at the northernmost part of Green Lake across from Parkurst. Originally from Scotland, he fought in World War I. He had been a prisoner of war in 1914 for a number of years, and was made to complete forced labour in an Austrian salt mine. He moved to Canada post-war. His brother ran Hawkins and Gorrie Auctioneers of Vancouver, and Angus would often keep second-hand object at his place at Green Lake for him for safe-keeping. Angus enjoyed fishing on Green Lake, but lived somewhat like a hermit there and was seen as an eccentric by the locals (according to Bob Williamson), despite having a job and permanent residence in Vancouver. He would often wear tam o' shanters.
