Historique
Jim Godfrey is the owner of Interplay Consulting, was the Executive Director for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Whistler, and was formerly Chief Administrative Officer for the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW). From 1977 to 1981 he was director of parks and recreation for the District of Maple Ridge, BC. From 1981 to 1983 he was deputy administrator for the Township of Langley, BC, then worked as administrator in Langley until 1996. In 1996, he moved to Whistler to become chief administrative officer for the RMOW, a position he held until 2005. Godfrey was a director on the Board for the Vancouver Organization Committee (VANOC) for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games since its inception. Jim was the Chair of the Sustainability and Human Resources Committee and a member of the Finance Committee. He also sat on the Board of Directors for the Vancouver Bid Corporation, which successfully secured the right to host the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. From 2005 to 2010, he was executive director for the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Whistler. Since 2011, he has worked for his own consulting company, Interplay Consulting Inc., based in Whistler. Godfrey serves on the Board of Directors of the Whistler Sport Legacies Society and the Whistler 2020 Development Corporation. He is a past board member of Lift Philanthropy Partners and Tourism Whistler, and was a founding board member for the Whistler Housing Authority (WHA). He has won the Willis Award for Innovation from the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators, the CH2M Hill Sustainable Community Award from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, the Fraser Institute's Economy in Government Competition, and the RMOW's Freedom of Municipality award. Godfrey is currently a principal with Interplay Consulting Inc., a small firm providing management services for local governments, post-secondary educational institutions, not-for-profits, and the private sector.
