History
Robert "Bob" Fawcett is the former general manager of Howling Dog Tours, a dogsledding tour company based North of Whistler. On April 21, 2010, 56 sled dogs were culled execution-style, allegedly by Fawcett. Fawcett said he was traumatized from being ordered to cull dogs no longer needed when business dipped following the Vancouver Winter Olympics, and the dogs' bodies were discovered in January 2011 after Fawcett filed a successful worker's compensation claim with WorkSafeBC for post-traumatic stress disorder related to the incident. In November 2012, Fawcett was sentenced to three years probation for causing unnecessary pain and suffering to nine of the animals.
