The article speaks about the origin of the name 'Mons' in Whistler, the origin of the names 'Birken' and 'Birkenhead', quotes from Brian Buchholz about Whistler's Remembrance Day ceremonies, and the background of retired air serviceman Brian Titterton of Whistler.

The article speaks about the support several Sea to Sky veterans gave to the idea of turning the Sea to Sky Highway into the Sea to Sky Veterans Memorial Highway. Fond consists of material donated by Gordon McKeever and includes promotional stickers for Whistler Mountain and Whistler Blackcomb, a promotional book for Whistler's restaurants, four travel planners created by the Whistler Resort Association to promote both Winter and Summer seasons between 1997 and 2000, a paper spiral bound guide for Whistler Resort Association (WRA) members from November 15th, 1996, a 1999 VHS promotional resort video guide for the Resort Municipality of Whistler, a variety of materials supporting the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, four paper business directory booklets printed for the Whistler Chamber of Commerce dating from 1994, 1996, and 1999, and sixteen posters depicting a variety of subject matter including Whistler festivals, ski racing events, concert series, car shows, heli-skiing, Molson and Shell Cups, and Whistler Resort tourism.

Olympics

The series includes event tickets from the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, two temporary tattoos representing the 2010 Winter Olympic Games hosted in Whistler and Vancouver, stickers promoting the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, three DVDs from 2005-2010 that contain videos on a variety of topics regarding Olympic Games, one CD-R disc that contains one PDF of a study on the Whistler Athlete's Village heating system feasibility from 2004, an excel matrix, a promotional VHS tape for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games bid, a BC Transit brochure map that outlines its bus services during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, a [dinner] menu prepared for His Royal Highness, the Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex by the Resort Municipality of Whistler [during his visit to the Paralympic Games in 2010], a paper booklet of a concept design for the Whistler Olympic Centre, a spiral bound paper booklet created for the Vancouver Whistler 2010 Bid Corporation Supporter Conference from November 23, 2001, a poster created by Tourism Whistler to advertise the temporary closure of the Whistler Public Library while the building functioned as the Whistler Canada Olympic House during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, a congratulatory issue of TIME Magazine from July 14th, 2003 with a cover image of three local Whistler youth celebrating the Vancouver and Whistler 2010 Olympic bid victory in the Village Square, Whistler Village.

2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Event Tickets - February and March 2010

Twelve event tickets from the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.

One ticket is for an event from February 12, 2010 that took place at the Whistler Canada Olympic House [The Whistler Public Library]. The ticket is paper and is housed in a plastic holder [likely to be hung around neck or attached to a shirt or jacket via a lanyard or clip]. The ticket depicts the Canadian Olympic Team logo, the Resort Municipality of Whistler logo, the Government of Canada logo, and the British Columbia Provincial logo. It also has a barcode on the back.

There are two general admission tickets from the Paralympic Alpine Skiing event that took place on March 15th, 2010 at 11:30am, as well as one that took place on March 18th at 11:30am. These tickets are green in colour, have the admission price, and the location of the event.

One ticket is for the Olympic Alpine Skiing event that occurred on February 17th, 2010 at 11:00am. The ticket depicts a stylized skier in blue, green, and white and has the admission price, as well as the event location.

One ticket is for Sledge Hockey dated to March 19th, 2010 at 7:00pm. The ticket depicts a stylized Sledge Hockey player in blue, green, and white and has the admission price, as well as the event location.

One ticket is for the Biathlon event dated to February 21st, 2010 at 10:45am. The ticket depicts a stylized Biathlon participant in blue, green, and white and has the admission price, as well as the event location.

One ticket is for an Ice Hockey event dated to February 25th, 2010 at 11:00am. This ticket is blue in colour and shows the admission price, event location, and seating.

There are three general admission tickets for Whistler Victory Ceremonies [medals were awarded at these events] dating to February 10th, February 17th, and February 20th, 2010.

One ticket is for the Paralympic Games Closing Ceremony that occurred on March 21st, 2010 in Whistler. The ticket is green in colour and shows the admission price and venue location.

VHS Tape - Vancouver 2010 Olympic Bid

A promotional VHS tape for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games bid. The tape contains images and videos of winter Olympic sports, Canadian scenery, nature, landscapes, wildlife, Whistler, Vancouver, people, youth, famous Canadians, and Canadian Olympians. The tape contains short cameos of various speakers discussing topics ranging from Indigenous traditions, Japanese Taiko Drumming, and previous Olympics. The tape also shows the Jamaican bobsledding team crashing and a downhill ski race crash. The video supports and promotes Canada as the next nation to host the 2010 winter Olympics.
