History
Jack came to Whistler as Garibaldi Lifts manager at 29 years old. His previous experience included many years of skiing in the Laurentians and being a member of the Canadian Ski Instructor's Alliance. In his early days he was on the cover of Ski Magazine and Skiing Life Magazine. He instructed at Mont Tremblant in Quebec as well as Mammoth Mountain in California, and managed a tiny ski resort called "Pigeon Mountain" in Canmore for five years.
Jack worked at Whistler Mountain as their General Manager from 1967-1977. In 1975 he built Whistler Inns and in 1976 a restaurant called "JB's". He left Whistler Mountain to work full time on these investments. He moved to Vancouver in 1980.
He was married to Ann Bright and had two sons - Lance and Jordan who both grew up in Whistler.
