History

Molly Boyd and her husband, Sandy Boyd, lived in Vernon, BC (where they owned a ski hill), before moving to Whistler in 1982 with their children. They lived at the base of Creekside where they acted as alpine caretakers for Whistler Mountain, and where their son, Rob Boyd, would eventually win the World Cup Downhill ski race in 1989. She won Whistler's Citizen of the Year Award in 1984. Molly Boyd was involved in the choral scenes of both Vernon and Whistler. Boyd’s first experience directing choirs was with All Saints Anglican Church’s Junior Choir in Vernon, but when she moved to Whistler she founded the Whistler Children's Chorus and directed the Whistler Singers. She returned to Vernon in 1997, where she would continue directing chorus.
