History
The Whistler Scouts Group was a social and education-based group meeting weekly and affiliated with Scouts Canada. While the group was traditionally for young boys, young girls have also been welcomed. Broken into Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Venturers (according to age group), members would meet to learn wilderness survival skills, camp, and play social games. Ewen Addison and Mike Dean were among the leaders who organized meetings on a volunteer basis. The group met at Myrtle Philip Elementary School. The group folded due to lack of members, and since then those in the Whistler area wishing to be involved in Scouting have been served by the Squamish group.
