Rick Bowie was a pioneer of freestyle skiing in the 1980s, competing in moguls, ballet, and aerials with his brother Darryl Bowie and alongside friend Greg Athans. They grew up in Calgary and came from a skiing family. He placed second and third in many Freestyle World Circuit events.
