History

Feet Banks was raised in Northern BC without electricity. At age twelve his family moved to Whistler, where he took up hiking, skiing, rock climbing, and ocean canoe trips during his high school years. After graduating from the University of Victoria for writing and film, Feet returned to Whistler, where he co-directed and produced the seminal Canadian ski film Parental Advisory Vol. 1. Feet now lives in Squamish, but hosts many Whistler events, writes a weekly movie column titled 'Notes from the Back Row' for Pique Newsagazine, freelances for numerous top outdoor magazines, and has been the editor of the magazine Mountain Life – Coast Mountains since it’s inception in 2006. He is also the co-creator of the Heavy Hitting HorrorFest, a grassroots Whistler film festival which has locals create often hysterical horror shorts which are judged.
