Harbour Air Seaplanes, commonly known as Harbour Air (and in Whistler, known as Whistler Air, a subsidiary of the company), is a scheduled floatplane service and a tour and charter airline based in Richmond, BC. The predominantly-seaplane airline specializes in routes between Vancouver, Nanaimo, Victoria, Sechelt, Comox, Whistler, and the Gulf Islands, primarily with de Havilland Canada floatplanes. Harbour Air operates de Havilland Beavers, Otters, and Twin Otters. The airline was established and started operations in 1982 as Windoak Air Service to provide seaplane charter services for the forestry industry in British Columbia. In 1993, Harbour Air purchased Trans-Provincial Airlines, added charter flights to resorts, and increased scheduled services. Harbour Air refers to itself as the world's largest all-seaplane airline, and it became North America's first carbon neutral airline, in 2007. Teamed up with Vancouver-based Offsetters, the airline started to include a carbon offset on each ticket used to mitigate the environmental impact of the greenhouse gas emissions (GHG's) associated with the flight. The funds are invested in renewable energy projects. A small subsidiary, Harbour Air Malta, was set up in June 2007 and a DHC-3 Turbo Otter floatplane is permanently based in Valletta, Malta for scheduled flights to Gozo and sightseeing trips around the islands. Harbour Air Magazine is the official in-flight magazine of Harbour Air. On February 16, 2010, Deloitte Canada announced that Harbour Air was a winner of a 2009 Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies Award, a national award sponsored by Deloitte, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), National Post, and the Smith School of Business. On March 31, 2010, Harbour Air completed the acquisition of West Coast Air and consolidated their terminal services. On May 20, 2011, Harbour Air grounded its service from Victoria Harbour to Langley Regional Airport due to low passenger numbers and fuel price surges. On May 9, 2012, Harbour Air purchased Whistler Air. In September 2013, Harbour Air launched a land-based charter carrier, Tantalus Air, which operates one Cessna 182 Skylane as ICAO airline designator TTU, and telephony TANTALUS. In November 2015, Harbour Air purchased Saltspring Air. Harbour Air and Kenmore Air started a new seaplane service between Downtown Vancouver, and Downtown Seattle on April 26, 2018. In March 2019, Harbour Air announced a partnership with magniX to electrify the entire Harbour Air fleet over the long term. Harbour Air has noted that its initial electric-powered commercial flights will be on routes of under 30 minutes' duration. The first converted aircraft was a DHC-2 Beaver, which serves as the test prototype for the magniX motor, energy storage, and control systems. The prototype flew for the first time on December 10, 2019. The electric prototype made its first flight over 4 minutes off the Fraser River near Vancouver on December 10, 2019. Harbour Air aims to convert all of its 34 aircraft. The plane completed its first point-to-point flight, from Vancouver to Victoria Airport Water Aerodrome near Sidney on Vancouver Island, on August 18, 2022, travelling 72 km (45 mi) in 24 minutes. The aircraft was displayed at the British Columbia Aviation Museum open house on August 20, 2022.

Merlin Air Custom Charters Inc. was a privately-funded regional aviation company formerly based at Pemberton-Whistler Regional Airport (CYPS). Founded in 2007 under CEO Fred Xavier, the airline took until 2011 to attain the proper licenses needed to operate out of Pemberton Airport. The company aimed to provide service to and from eleven other airports within an hour or less of flight time from Pemberton – connecting Vancouver Island, the Okanagan, Vancouver South, the Fraser Valley, and Pemberton and Whistler, using Navaho Chieftain twin engine aircraft with capacities of 6 to 8 passengers. Charter flights run by Merlin Air aimed to showcase scenery over Howe Sound, Harrison Lake, and Lillooet Lake. Charters were slated to run for the purposes of sightseeing, glacier events, forestry and resource aviation, cargo, aerial photography, film crews, and business clientele. In late 2010, Merlin Air lost out to Blackcomb Helicopters in its bid to purchase a building at the Pemberton Airport that used to belong to Pemberton Helicopters. Also in 2010, Merlin Air finalized a business agreement with the Heiltsuk Tribal Council in order to base operations out of Bella Bella Airport on Campbell Island in British Columbia. In Pemberton, Merlin Air planned to maintain a full-service facility – heated hanger, offices, reception, passenger areas, aviation fuel, and personnel. The airline also planned to operate several 'Adventure Centres' across BC, including in the first floor of the Pemberton Gateway Hotel. In 2013, Merlin Air Holdings signed an option-to-purchase agreement for Lot 4, a property that is located at the entrance to Pemberton Village on Portage Road and Highway 99 which was farmed by Roland Wuschke until his death in 2011. The company aimed to build and operate an eco-friendly tourism facility called "Merlin Air Adventures and Event Centre" in hopes to create "an exceptional and memorable multi-use venue in which to host small catered events, weddings, corporate functions, and cultural and musical performances". CEO Fred Xavier of Merlin Air came to the sale agreement with Green Manor Management Ltd., the family trust that owned Lot 4 after Wuschke's passing. As of 2023, there is no evidence of these plans or operations coming to fruition in the Pemberton area.

In 2008, Steve received the Governor General's Medal of Bravery from the Government of Canada for rescuing a stranded ice sailor who had broken through the ice on Green Lake in Whistler. He rushed to a nearby heliport, where he met with Paul Skelton and Vincent Massey. All three boarded a helicopter and, within minutes, flew to the scene. While Steve performed a precision hover, allowing the craft to get close to the ice, Skelton and Massey reached for the hypothermic victim and pulled him safely into the helicopter.
