The Association of BC Forest Professionals is responsible for registering and regulating British Columbia's professional foresters and forest technologists. The association includes around 5000 members. The practice of professional forestry has been regulated since 1947, when foresters first agreed to help protect the public's interest in the province's forests in return for the exclusive right to practice forestry.

AWARE (Association of Whistler Area Residents for the Environment) is a member driven charity that works to protect the natural environment in Whistler and the Sea to Sky through advocacy and speaking up about key environmental issues, while empowering others to do the same through science-based research and education. AWARE, which was started back in 1989, has taken on some large projects over the years to help wildlife, including the Cascade Grizzly Bear Initiative, Old Growth Forest preservation, and eliminating the need for single use plastic bags in Whistler. Many of AWARE's projects have been incorporated into the RMOW's Whistler 2020 Sustainability Plan.

Avalanche Canada is a non-government, not-for-profit organization dedicated to public avalanche safety and eliminating avalanche casualties and injuries in Canada. Their functions include issuing daily avalanche forecasts throughout the winter for much of the mountainous regions of western Canada, providing this free information via website and their app, Avalanche Canada Mobile. Axis Theatre Company is a theatre company based in Vancouver. Lin Bennett, Wendy Gorling, Elizabeth Murray-Byers and Wayne Specht, who became the founding Artistic Director, came together as a group in 1973-74. Each member trained at either Etienne Decroux or L’Ecole Lecoq and were eager to promote their chosen art form. The Axis Mime Theatre Society incorporated in May 1975 as the next step to access financial support to create the structure needed to administer their activities on a consistent, professional level. Over 40 years later, Axis Theatre Company continues to create original physical theatre productions for the young and young at heart.

BC Tel

The British Columbi Telephone Company was formed in 1904 as a telephone company and obtained a federal charter in 1916. BC Telephone formed "BC Cellular" in 1985 to compete in the new cellular telephone business. On May 1, 1993, BC Telephone re-organised under holding company "BC Telecom Inc" and changed its legal operating name to "BC Tel". The deregulation of the phone industry in the 1990s combined with the competition of copper lines with cell phones totally changed the business environment. In a 1999 "merger of equals", BC Tel merged with Telus, the telephone operating company in Alberta. The merger created the second largest telephone company in Canada after Bell. It was announced that the merged company would keep the Telus name, but move into BC Tel's former headquarters in Burnaby, British Columbia.
